Sending a Bitcoin (BTC) transaction with custom fees allows you to manage transaction costs, especially during times of network congestion or high price volatility. Here’s how to do it using your Ledger device and Ledger Live:
- Open Ledger Live
Navigate to Your Bitcoin Account:
Open Ledger Live on your computer.
Go to the Accounts tab and select your Bitcoin (BTC) account.
Initiate a Transaction:
Click the Send button.
Enter Recipient Information:
Input the recipient’s wallet address in the designated field.
Set Custom Fees:
Toggle the Advanced option to access fee settings.
Specify a custom fee amount. Bitcoin fees are calculated in satoshis (sat) per byte. You can use tools like Bitcoin Fees to determine the optimal fee for your transaction.
Review Transaction Details:
Click Continue to proceed.
Before finalizing, carefully review all transaction details, including the fee amount.
Confirm and Sign the Transaction:
Your Ledger device will prompt you to review the transaction details.
Verify the fee amount and other transaction details on your Ledger device screen.
Confirm and sign the transaction by pressing both buttons on your Ledger device.
By following these steps, you ensure that your Bitcoin transaction is processed with the custom fee you have set, enhancing your control over transaction costs and processing times.
